Luka Doncic will remain the primary ball handler for the Dallas Mavericks, according to the team’s new head coach Jason Kidd. The reason behind such decision is that the Slovenian guard is ‘too good’.
However, one area where the team needs to improve, says Kidd, is the defensive end. He remembered the 2011 NBA championship which the Mavs won with him on the roster, saying it was because of defense.
“I don’t think it’s going to change in a sense that we’re not going to take the ball out of Luka’s hand. He’s too good. We’ve added pieces to compliment him, but also (pieces that) compliment each other,” Kidd said, per Dwain Price of mavs.com.
