Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Lauri Markkanen via a three-team trade deal earlier today, bringing another stretch forward in the team alongside Kevin Love.

Love has two years remaining in his current deal worth $60 million. According to Terry Pluto of cleveland.com, the Cavs have already begun discussions with Kevin Love for a potential buyout.

Although Pluto suggests the team talked with Love for a buyout, the Cavaliers are denying any rumors regarding the veteran forward.

“What about Love? An NBA source told me the Cavs were making progress toward a buyout for Love, who has two years and $60 million left on his contract. But the Cavs and other NBA sources have strongly denied it. This likely just another Kevin Love rumor, and there have been so many over the years. At some point, a buyout for Love make sense for both parties. No clue when that will happen.”

The Cavs have been trying to trade Love since the end of the 2018-2019 season. For nearly three years, there have been absolutely no trading partners.
