Rajon Rondo could be on the move before the start of the Memphis Grizzlies’ training camp, and the Los Angeles Lakers are considered favorites to sign the veteran guard, per ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

Rondo spent the last season with the Atlanta Hawks and the Los Angeles Clippers, after winning the second title of his career with the Lakers in 2020.

Rondo was traded to Memphis a few weeks ago in exchange for Eric Bledsoe, who returned to the Clippers after spending the first years of his career in the LA franchise.

The Lakers require a backup guard, and Rondo could be the answer to that need. Rajon Rondo is owed around $8 million in the 2021-22 NBA season, but a buyout will allow him to negotiate with a team he prefers.
