De’Aaron Fox reportedly ‘content’ with remaining in Sacramento, despite Ben Simmons’ rumors

De’Aaron Fox was part of the rumors that suggested the Sacramento Kings are interested in the Sixers’ disgruntle guard, Ben Simmons.

Despite the willingness to trade for an All-Star player, the Kings are not expected to trade Fox, who is reportedly content with the situation in Sacramento, per Paolo Uggetti of The Ringer.

“There are other semi-intriguing fits, like Portland, Golden State, or Sacramento; the latter has the shooting Simmons needs around him and could dangle De’Aaron Fox as a trade piece. But a league source said Fox is content in Sacramento. And having a player who wants to stay may be too valuable for a small-market team like the Kings,” Uggeti wrote.

Simmons has been the talk of the offseason since his appearance in this past playoffs, in which he had little or no impact at all on the offensive side for the Philadelphia 76ers.

He averaged just 11.9 points per game, shot 34.2 percent from the free-throw line during his last playoff run. On the other side, Fox is a different kind of player and top-flight guard on the offensive side, despite Sacramento’s struggles.

He has not been elite in defense, but he does not shy away from his duties in offensive end. Fox averaged a career-high 25.2 points to go with 7.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steal per game.
