Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd visited Latvia to meet Kristaps Porzingis in the same fashion that he went to Slovenia to talk with Luka Doncic.

The veteran coach stated that Porzingis was a great host, while he added that he’s in a ‘good place mentally and physically’. He also pointed out he’s exciting to work with him in the upcoming season.

Per The Dallas Morning News’ Brad Townsend:

“KP was an incredible host,” Kidd said, per clutchpoints. “We had dinners. “We got to see him work out and we got to talk a lot. “He’s in a good place, physically and mentally,” Kidd added of Porzingis, “and I’m excited about the opportunity to coach him.”

The Mavs’ superstar is coming off of an injury-riddled two years in Dallas. He played in 43 of 72 regular-season games, and he saw his role being diminished during the playoffs.
