CJ McCollum calls out the Heat for how they handled Kendrick Nunn’s departure

CJ McCollum called out the Miami Heat for the way they handled the departure of Kendrick Nunn, who eventually signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

McCollum said the moves the Heat made cost Nunn the opportunity to negotiate a better and more lucrative deal.

“The Kendrick Nunn situation. He was gonna be a free agent. They basically waited until the money dried up, right? You correct me if I’m wrong.

Have you (Wojnarowski) seen this happening in the league and not being discussed at all? Where they talk about players forcing their way out, player movement.

But then what about the manipulation that goes into some of these situations where teams are waiting for the market to dry up before they release a player’s rights,” McCollum said, via Brad Sullivan of Heat Nation.

Kendrick Nunn eventually agreed to a two-year deal with the Lakers as a free agent, worth a total of $10M.
