Hornets re-sign Terry Rozier to max extension

Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier has agreed to a four-year, $97 million max contract extension, his agents told Shams Charania.

The guaranteed deal takes Rozier through the 2025-26 NBA season.

Rozier, 27, has enjoyed the best two seasons of his career with the Hornets.

Last season, he averaged career-highs of 20.4 points, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while also shooting a career-high 45.0 percent from the field.

Rozier’s emergence along with young star and Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball in the backcourt led the Hornets to be willing to part ways with guard Devonte’ Graham, who signed with the New Orleans Pelicans this offseason.

The Hornets will be an exciting team to watch this season with a core of players that features Rozier, Ball, Gordon Hayward, Miles Bridges, P.J. Washington, Kelly Oubre Jr. and rookie James Bouknight.
