Kemba Walker made his first statement as a member of the New York Knicks, and addressed the factors that made him join the NY franchise.

(via ESPN.com):

“Everything. Perfect timing. Really motivated. Super excited that these guys have belief in me,” Walker said on him joining his hometown team. “That’s all I need. I just need somebody to believe in me. These guys do, and I appreciate that.”

Walker signed a four-year max contract with the Boston Celtics two years ago. The veteran guard admitted he does not feel like the Celtics did not believe him; however they decided to traded him.

I definitely felt like Boston believed in me,” Walker said. “But they traded me. But, yeah, that’s not the case. I don’t feel like they didn’t believe in me,” he continued.

The former Celtics’ guard signed a two-year deal worth of $18M with the Knicks, after working on a buyout with the OKC Thunder, who acquired him in a trade with Boston in June.
