17-year NBA veteran Kyle Korver is joining the Brooklyn Nets as a player development assistant coach on Steve Nash’s staff, according to Shams Charania.

Korver never officially announced his retirement from playing, but this move signals that a comeback will not be in his future.

The 40-year-old played 58 games for the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2019-20 season and did not play in the NBA last season.

Korver played in 1,232 career games for the Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Bucks.

He averaged 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, while shooting 42.9 percent from three-point.

Korver was also a one-time All-Star in 2015 and ranks fourth in NBA history with 2,450 made three-pointers.

Nets star James Harden currently has 2,445 career made threes and will pass his new coach early in the upcoming season.

Along with Korver, the Nets recently hired former Orlando Magic coach Steve Clifford as a coaching consultant.
