Luka Doncic will enter his fourth year in the NBA as one of the league’s top stars. The 22-year-old Slovenian has been rewarded by the Dallas Mavericks for ηis performances by a four-year contract worth $207 million.

He became a foundational piece for the Mavs, drawing comparisons with the team’s legend Dirk Nowitzki who spent his entire career in Dallas and winning a championship in the process. Sports analyst Chris Broussard weighed in on the Luka vs. Dirk debate by choosing Doncic over the German star.

“I’m WAY in. Dirk had a great career, but Luka is better. Luka is the elite of the elite!” Broussard said on First Things First, pointing out that if Doncic wins a ring, the comparison will be not even close.

This past season Doncic averaged 27.7 points, 8 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game, helping the Mavericks reach the playoffs where they were eliminated in seven games by the Los Angeles Clippers.
