Kent Bazemore on Lakers: “We’re definitely one of the favorites this year”

Kent Bazemore returned to the Los Angeles Lakers after seven years with four different teams. The 32-year-old small forward played 23 games for the Purple and Gold back in 2013-2014. The Lakers was his best option this summer, he said during the introductory press conference.

“I think we’re definitely one of the favorites this year. A lot of people want to talk about our age. But it this game, it’s a man’s game and experience is key, experience is something that you can’t buy,” Bazemore said. “You got to go through the ups and downs of this league and only strong survive.

“And I feel like we have a very very strong team even down to the younger guys, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, big fan of his, lefty undrafted guy, Malik Monk, he was in Charlotte for the past couple of seasons, I think with the right people around him he can become a very special talent. I’m looking forward to what future holds. I look to bring my leadership skills, my optimism. We are the best team in basketball — that will be my message all year, regardless of what we’re going through. So looking forward to it.”
