Kevin Durant signs contract extension with the Nets

Kevin Durant is expected to sign a contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets, which will keep him with the team long term.

Durant has agreed to a four-year extension with the Nets, worth a total of $198M, which will sign in the coming days.

In order for the extension to start next year, Durant will decline his player option for the 2022/23 season. The two-time NBA champion and Finals MVP had signed a four-year, $164M deal with the Nets back in 2019.

Durant, who led Team USA to the gold medal in the Olympic Tournament, averaged 26.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game in the regular season, setting career highs in field goal percentage (53.7%) and three-point percentage (45%), as well as 34.3 points and 9.3 boards in the playoffs.
