Philadelphia 76ers are seeking to re-root their roster’s buildup and trade Ben Simmons for an All-Star caliber player. However, they still haven’t found a team ready to give up any crucial assets for the All-Star guard.

Philadelphia has begun taking trade calls on him and their asking price is high, which makes sense, but it also seems that they are going to be very patient in these talks looking to be in the sweepstakes for Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal should either player become available in the future.

The Sixers could also try to revamp his value and bring Simmons back for next season, if they can’t get a superstar player at the moment. However, it appears that the young All-Star point guard could not have interest in returning to Philadelphia because of the things they were said after the loss to Atlanta in the playoffs.

According to Romona Shelburne (via the Sixerswire):

“The Sixers are open to bringing him back. In a lot of ways, I think they would prefer that. I think they would prefer to say we don’t want to trade this guy who can win the Defensive Player of the Year, who is a young superstar in the making.

Just come back and let’s work on this, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a bridge there that is being walked across by both sides like that. I don’t know if Ben Simmons has that interest right now because things were said afterwards.

After the season, Doc Rivers said some things, Joel Embiid said some things. I know there’s been trying to smoothing out of that relationship, but it doesn’t seem like Ben is necessarily interested in that right now,” Shelburne said on ESPN’s The Jump.
