Boston Celtics are in the market for a point guard, and they may have interest in reuniting with a familiar face, according to the latest reports.

Marc Stein of Substack reports in his latest column that the Celtics have interest in adding Isaiah Thomas with Stein declaring that Brad Stevens is one of the guards’ biggest fans.

After trading away Kemba Walker to the OKC Thunder last month, the Celtics are seeking to add a veteran guard ahead of the 2021-22 season.

The Celtics traded away Thomas in August 2017 as part of a blockbuster deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving. He only played three games last season after signing a 10-day contract with the Pelicans.

He averaged 7.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 16.1 minutes during those contests, but New Orleans did not offer another contract thereafter.
