Bayern continues its good form in Slovenia, Eurocup Last 32 round up

Bayern Munich produced a strong fourth quarter to overcome Union Olimpija Ljubljana 90-80 in Group K of the Eurocup to improve to 3-0.

Bayern could clinch a spot in the Eurocup Eighthfinals as soon as next week when it hosts Olimpija in Munich. Big men Vladimir Stimac and John Bryant made the difference for the winners. The former tallied 24 points on 10-of-11 shooting plus 9 rebounds and the latter had 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting and 11 boards. Heiko Schaffartzik added 12 points and Anton Gavel had 10 for Bayern.

Dino Muric paced Olimpija with 14 points, Marko Marinovic scored 13 and Klemen Prepelic totaled 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in defeat as they drop to 1-2.

Limoges claimed a share of first place in Group J with an 81-70 victory over visiting Cantu in. The hosts used a late 9-0 run to take control in improving to 2-1, while dropping Cantu to 1-2. Adrien Moerman starred with 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.

James Feldeine scored 16 of his 19 points in the third quarter for Cantu.

Karsiyaka Izmir edged closer to the Eighthfinals by beating Paris Levallois 75-85 in the French capital on Tuesday. Karsiyaka improved to 3-0 in Last 32 Group M, while dropping Paris to 1-2.

Karsiyaka could potentially clinch a spot in the next stage as soon as next week when it hosts Paris. Bobby Dixon paced a balanced Karsiyaka attack with 22 points and 5 assists, while Kenny Gabriel posted 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Juan Palacios added 12 points, DJ Strawberry had 11 points and 4 steals and Baris Hersek scored 10.

Blake Schilb led Paris with 20 points and 8 assists, Mike Green had 13 and 7, Sharrod Ford scored 12 and Dionte Christmas 10 for Paris, which fought back from 21 down to within 7 twice in the second half, but could get no closer.
