Westbrook, James, Davis reportedly met at James’ house this month about playing together in Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers made the first blockbuster deal of the summer, acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards via trade.

Russell Westbrook reportedly met with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at James’ home two weeks ago to discuss the three of them playing together for the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times (hat tip to Bleacher Report), the three superstars met at LeBron’s house last month and agreed to put their egos aside and bring the Lakers another championship.

The Lakers and Washington Wizards agreed to a trade that would send Westbrook and second-round picks in 2024 and 2028 to Los Angeles for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and the No. 22 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Wizards traded the 22nd overall selection to Indiana for point-guard Aaron Holiday and the No. 31 selection of Isaiah Todd, re-tooling their roster around Bradley Beal.

As for the Lakers, they created their own version of big three by acquiring Westbrook, who had a bounce-back season with Washington, putting up 22.2 points, 11.7 assists, and 11.5 rebounds per game.

The 32-year-old Westbrook spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder before playing for Houston and Washington in the last two seasons.
