NBA pays homage to the late Terrence Clarke during draft night

NBA paid tribute to the late Terrence Clarke during the 2021 draft. The 19-year-old guard from Kentucky passed away earlier this year due to an unfortunate car accident.

The 6’7″ guard decided to go professional after his first year with Kentucky and began training for the 2021 NBA Draft. He played only eight games during the season, due to an injury to his right leg.

Despite that, the future was looking bright for Clarke, who was ready to enter the 2021 NBA Draft, but tragedy struck him on April 22. The promising guard died in a fatal car accident in LA.

Clarke was honored by the NBA, when commissioner Adam Silver made the Kentucky guard a ceremonial pick, announcing his name midway during the first round of the draft.
