Pistons trading Mason Plumlee to Hornets

The Detroit Pistons are finalizing a trade to send center Mason Plumlee and the No. 37 pick to the Charlotte Hornets for the No. 57 pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Hornets had a desire to add a center to their roster, as Cody Zeller is entering free agency and they will now get that in the veteran Plumlee.

The 31-year-old averaged 10.4 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game in 56 games (26.8 minutes per game).

By trading Plumlee, the Pistons free up more playing time for talented young big man Isaiah Stewart.

The Pistons also open up another roster spot for a future signing.
