20 years ago, the Houston Rockets drafted 6-10 stretch big man Eddie Griffin out of Seton Hall University. Griffin could play both inside and out, bringing a strong presence down low while also being able to shoot it from deep.

Nearly 20 years later, the Houston Rockets signed a 6-10 stretch big man by the name of Christian Wood, giving longtime Rockets fans a reminder of the late Griffin’s play.

Former NBA vet and Houston native Stephen Jackson compared the two on an episode of All The Smoke when looking back at the 2000 McDonald’s All American Game with Zach Randolph.

Stephen Jackson: “He kind of reminds me of the kid that’s in Houston now, Wood. They play just alike. They got the similar game.”
