Zalgiris Kaunas are close to a deal with former NBA guard Emmanuel Mudiay, according to Basket News’ Donatas Urbonas.

The EuroLeague side is in advanced talks with the explosive combo guard. If he signs with Zalgiris, this will be Mudiay’s first stint in Europe.

Mudiay entered the NBA as the 7th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets in the 2015 Draft. In five years of career in the NBA, he played for the Nuggets, the Knicks and the Jazz.

Mudiay, 25, played his highest-scoring season in 2018-19 when he averaged 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game for the Knicks.

He played his last NBA season in 2019-20, where he averaged 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game for Utah.
