Raptors, Magic reportedly make trade offers to move up to No. 3 overall pick in NBA Draft

We are just one week away from the 2021 NBA Draft, and several teams are expected to make moves around the clock to put themselves in a better position in the lottery.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the Toronto Raptors, picking No. 4, and the Orlando Magic, picking No. 5, have both made trade offers to move up to No. 3.

“League sources say the Cavaliers have received significant trade interest for this selection, and the Raptors and Magic—the next two teams up to pick—have made offers to move up,” O’Connor wrote.

Orlando seems to be in a strong position as the Magic also control the No. 8 pick as well thanks to its midseason trade of Nikola Vucevic.

Evan Mobley is projected to go third overall in the draft, however the Cavaliers seem to consider Jarrett Allen as the future in the center position.

The same can be said for the Orlando Magic, who have Wendell Carter Jr., Mo Mamba and Jonathan Issac in the center/power forward rotation.’

On the other hand, Mobley is considered a one in the lifetime talent, being projected only behind Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green in the 2021 NBA Draft.

At the same time, Mobley makes sense for the Raptors as the team lost Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka in free agency last offseason and struggled to fill the void at center all season.
