Giannis Antetokounmpo won his first NBA championship in his eighth year in the league. The 26-year-old Milwaukee Bucks star was also named the Finals MVP after dropping 50 points in Game 6.
For this occasion, former NBA star Pau Gasol revived a two-year-old tweet from the late Kobe Bryant in which the Lakers legend congratulated Giannis for winning his first NBA MVP and wrote “Next up: Championship.”
“He did it, brother ❤️ #MambaMentality #KobesLegacy,” Gasol, who was a teammate of Antetokounmpo for a short period in 2019, tweeted.
