NBA all-time scoring leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was one of the most dominant big men to ever play the game. He won six championships during his 20-year career in the league, five of them were with the Los Angeles Lakers. Recently, he was asked on who his favorite big man in the NBA is nowadays.

The legendary center remained loyal to his former team, the Lakers. Abdul-Jabbar went with Anthony Davis. According to him, the Lakers star is awesome both defensively and offensively. This past season, Davis averaged 21.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

“I have a favorite big man and he happens to play in LA and wear number 3, Anthony Davis,” Abdul-Jabbar said, per Sanjesh Singh of USA Today. “I think he’s the most talented. Defensively in the paint, he’s awesome. Offensively in the paint, he’s awesome, and then he can go out on the perimeter and be a problem. He can hit the 3 consistently or the mid- and long-range jumper. So, I would have to go with him.”

Abdul-Jabbar concurred that both Joel Embiid and reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic are tough, but also admitted to not having watched enough. Therefore, his choice was Davis.

“But, as you said, Embiid … he’s tough, Jokić … he’s tough,” Abdul-Jabbar said. “I haven’t seen them play a lot. I might change my mind if I get a chance to see them play more, but I’m going to have to go with AD because I’m a Laker through and through and he’s proved it so far.”
