Knicks and three other teams reportedly linked to Kelly Oubre Jr. ahead of offseason

Kelly Oubre Jr. is expected to draw interest from several NBA teams this summer. The Warriors’ forward will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

According to Wes Goldberg of Mercury News, the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat will consider sign the scoring forward.

“Teams such as the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Mavericks and Miami Heat can create the requisite cap space and will consider signing Oubre, according to multiple reports. The Knicks, Mavericks and Heat all made the playoffs last season, and the Spurs under Gregg Popovich have a winning history.”

Oubre will seek a long-term deal that pays him upwards of $20 million annually, according to Goldberg. The Knicks will be one of the few teams that have the ability to add that kind of a salary to their cap space.

The scoring forward put up 15.4 points, 6.0 boards and 1.3 assists per game in his first season with the Warriors. He started in 50 contests with the Warriors, who narrowly missed the playoffs this year.
