Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is out for Game 5 against the Atlanta Hawks tonight with a hyperextended left knee, the team announced.
Antetokounmpo, 26, suffered the injury in Game 4 after an awkward landing under the basket.
There is no structural damage to his knee, as an MRI showed that the ligaments in his knee are “sound.”
A timetable for a return remains unclear.
“We’ll just take it day by day and see how he’s doing,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “When you talk about the range of possibilities, I think where this has landed has to be looked at as a positive. It’s still a really difficult fall.”
Without Antetokounmpo, it will be all hands on deck for the Bucks, as they will now be lead by Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday.
The Eastern Conference Finals series between the Bucks and Hawks is currently tied 2-2.
Meanwhile, Hawks star guard Trae Young and center Clint Capela both remain questionable for Game 5.
Young has a deep bone bruise in his right foot, while Capela is dealing with eye inflammation after taking an elbow to his right eye near the end of Game 4.
