Jason Kidd will return to being a head coach after getting hired by the Dallas Mavericks following the departure of Rick Carlisle. For the last couple of years, he served as an assistant coach to Frank Vogel on the Los Angeles Lakers, winning a championship in 2020.

According to Vogel, Kidd will be missed but he was happy for him for returning to head coaching. “Jason has been a big part of the culture we have built over the last two years and he will be missed. But, I am thrilled for him to get the opportunity to be a head coach again! It’s well deserved!” Vogel said, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
