Portland Trail Blazers are finally coming to a conclusion regarding the vacant head coach position of the franchise. According to several sources, Chauncey Billups appears to be the front-runner for Portland’s HC job.

Billups will replace Terry Stotts, who was in Portland for nine seasons. However, the Blazers could not get past the opening round of the playoffs in four of the last five seasons.

Billups has spent  the past season as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Clippers. He worked as an analyst for ESPN before moving to the sideline.

As a player, Billups earned five All-Star selections to go with the 2004 NBA Finals MVP award and the 2004 NBA title for the Detroit Pistons.
