Denver Nuggets will look to sign Michael Porter. Jr. to a contract extension this summer, team’s president Tim Connelly said to reporters on Friday.

Porter Jr. is eligible for a rookie scale extension this summer. The 22-year-old Porter averaged 19.0 points on 54.2 percent shooting (44.5 percent from three-point range) and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Nuggets

The Nuggets finished third in the Western Conference standings and reached the second round of the playoffs despite not having Jamal Murray available due to injury.

Denver was not able to stay fully healthy this year, however Michael Porter Jr. made a huge leap and help the Nuggets as the secondary scorer behind league’s MVP Nikola Jokic.
