Jazz’s Mike Conley hopes to play in Game 6; Donovan Mitchell a game-time decision

Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley is “working toward a return to the lineup” for Game 6 tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Conley, 33, has missed all five games of the series due to a right hamstring strain.

Meanwhile, Jazz star guard Donovan Mitchell is progressing to be a game-time decision due to a sprained right ankle, Wojnarowski adds.

Mitchell was in obvious pain in the team’s Game 5 119-111 loss on June 16, as he shot 6-of-19 from the field and 4-of-14 from three-point.

“It’s something I’m going to have to deal with,” said the 24-year-old about his ankle injury worsening. “I mean, it f—ing sucks. I ain’t got nothing else to say. Like, it’s tough when you’re trying different things that you normally do and you see spots you can get to, but you can’t, so you got to find a way to make it happen. It’s tough, but I got to find a way. Otherwise, I’m going to be home. And I said it last year … and I said during the year, we didn’t do all this to lose in the second round, so we got to figure it the f— out. Otherwise, that’s it. Excuse my language.”

With the Jazz down 3-2 and on the brink of elimination in the Western Conference Semifinals, it’s likely that both Conley and Mitchell are active, as they hope to force a Game 7 on June 20.
