Joel Embiid sets new playoff career high, 76ers tie the series vs. Atlanta

Philadelphia 76ers needed another huge game from Joel Embiid to claim a 102-118 victory over the Atlanta Hawks as they tied the second round series (1-1).

Embiid set a new playoff career high by exploding for 40 points, 13 rebounds and two assists on 13-of-25 shooting to propel Doc Rivers’ team to the win.

The All-Star center became the first Sixers’ player to drop 40+ points in a playoff game since Allen Iverson, who scored 45 points vs. the Hornets back in 2003.

The Sixers’ superstar was followed by Tobias Harris, who had 22 points with 16 of them coming in the first quarter. Seth Curry scored 21, making 5-of-6 of his threes in the game.

The series is heading to Atlanta as the 76ers will try to get the home court advantage back after losing Game 1. Game 3 takes place on Friday.
