“Defensively, I just want to always continue to try and just get a tenacious approach to it: be able to transform my body the way I have done, and just try to be quicker and faster to be able to defend different guys,” Horton-Tucker said during his exit interview on Friday.

“Offensively, I want to get my shot to the point where it’s almost automatic. That comes with the work I continue to put in every day: get everything consistent. I feel like I’ll be pretty good, and I am ready to take the next step of my career.”

THT had a great year with the Lakers making serious progress as a sophomore despite being in a team that focused on making another NBA title run after last season’s championship.

Tucker played in 65 games averaging 9.0 points, 2.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game with the Lakers this season. He shot 45.8 percent and 28.2 percent from deep making the free throws on 77 percent clip.

The promising guard will have to get his shooting numbers up from the perimeter to legitimately become a two-way player in the NBA. Considering the leap he took this season, THT could be on his way to a starting role in LA next year.
