With James Harden going down early in Game 1, the Brooklyn Nets needed players to step up and that’s exactly what coach Steve Nash is getting out of his club. Former Detroit teammates Bruce Brown & Blake Griffin are bringing intensity on both ends to Brooklyn, most notably with their energy and defense. Nets veteran Joe Harris recently praised Brown & Griffin for their defensive focus, calling them ‘the constant quarterback’ on that side of the ball.

“No matter who Bruce or BG is guarding, they’re doing all the little stuff where you have consistent ball pressure, you have a level of physicality and any sort of 50/50 ball it seems like Blake is getting on it. Guys are sacrificing their body and just the level of communication, whatever it might be, those guys are sort of the constant quarterback on the defensive end.”
