Devin Booker on Phoenix’s balanced scoring effort from starters: “Team basketball, that’s what the playoffs is”

The Phoenix Suns starting group was clicking on all cylinders in Game 1 vs. Denver, as four guys scored 20 or more points in the win. The leading scorer of the starters was 24-year-old Mikal Bridges, who went for 23 points on 4-8 from three point distance. All Stars Devin Booker & Chris Paul both scored 21, while youngster Deandre Ayton put up 20. Booker said after the game that getting a balanced team effort is what the playoffs are all about.

(Via Phoenix Suns):

“It’s team basketball, that’s what the playoffs is. Teams aren’t going to let your first, second and third option get it going every night. They try to take that away and make the other guys do it. I think that benefits us with the talent that we have on this team, the depth that we have on this team, and just the playmaking ability of everybody. Just being able to dribble, pass and shoot. I know it sounds simple, but when everybody can do that on the court it opens up opportunities for everybody.”
