Alex Caruso turned into one of the key players coming off the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers over the last couple of seasons, including this one. As his numbers and importance on the team grew, so grew the interest in him from other teams.

The 27-year-old guard is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and is expected to sign a lucrative deal. During the season closing press conference Caruso was asked by the media did he discuss his future with Rob Pelinka and Frank Vogel and whether he plans on returning to Los Angeles for next season.

“In more or less words,” Caruso said. “Just talked about some progress that I’ve made, unfortunate season that we had or at least the ending that we had, some adversity through the year asked me different things about what I want to try to get better at. Obviously I’m a free agent looming come August. Hopefully, we can return and continue the great partnership. But that’s obviously for a later date.”
