Talen Horton-Tucker talks about his upcoming free agency, future with Lakers

Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker made a big step forward this season as he became an important player on the team’s rotation. The 20-year-old averaged 9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 20.1 minutes per game which was a double or close to a double from last year.

His performances drew the eyes of other teams on him. It’s been reported that he could sign a lucrative deal this summer when he becomes a restricted free agent. During the season closing interview the sophomore was asked about his plan for free agency and whether he wants to remain with the Lakers.

“I haven’t really thought about it as much because it was during the season so I really wasn’t trying to give it too much train of thought,” Horton-Tucker said. “I appreciate the opportunity that I’ve had here. I just want to let my representation just kind of handle all of that. I feel like they’ll steer me in the right direction whatever it is.”
