Bam Adebayo signed a $163M supermax extension earlier this season after an incredible run with the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA playoffs.

Despite the fact that Miami was urging to keep Adebayo under contract, Pat Riley asked the All-Star center to wait for the offseason to sign his supermax deal, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

After their incredible run in the Orlando ‘bubble’ last season, Miami experienced an early first round exit in this year’s postseason.

The Milwaukee Bucks advanced to the second round of the playoffs as they swept the struggling Heat. Adebayo struggled offensively in the series averaging 15.5 points and 9.3 rebounds shooting just 45.6 percent.
