Anthony Davis still doubtful for Lakers; KCP available to play ahead of Game 5 vs. Suns

Los Angeles Lakers will insert Kentavious-Caldwell Pope back to their lineup for Game 5 of the series against the Phoenix Suns, reports Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

KCP will return after missing Game 4 with a knee contusion. Pope could provide a huge boost in the Lakers shooting, while his defense could limit the Suns’ wings from providing an extra boost in offense.

On the other hand, Anthony Davis is highly unlikely to suit up for Game 5, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski latest report. Davis suffered a groin injury during Sunday’s Game 4 vs. Phoenix.

Davis had a huge impact for the Lakers in Game 2 and 3 wins vs. the Suns leading his team in scoring. His absence means that Kyle Kuzma and Andre Drummond could receive more minutes in the forward and center position, respectively.
