Despite their huge win over Phoenix to take a 2-1 lead in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Lakers missed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with an injury during the game.

The Lakers’ veteran wing was forced to leave the game early with a quad contusion. According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, KCP will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine how much time he will miss.

After the game, the Lakers’ guard claimed that he hyperextended his knee. Regardless, Caldwell-Pope will have time to rest ahead of Game 4 of the series against the Suns, which will take place on Sunday.

After taking the lead, the Lakers need two more wins to wrap up the NBA playoff first round series and get their sights to the next round.
