Jason Kidd has been part of the Los Angeles Lakers coaching team the last two seasons after two head coaching gigs in Brooklyn and Milwaukee.

In a recent interview with Mark J.Spears of The Undefeated, the Lakers assistant admitted he would love to have another chance as a head coach in the NBA.

I hope I’m close. I would love to have another opportunity at it. Being here with Frank, understanding his strengths and watching him and how he handles different situations, is a big key that I’ve learned. Patience, communication is really key to understanding where everybody stands. Not just your top players, but the end of the bench,” Kidd said.

After his 19-year career as a player came to an end, Kidd coached the Brooklyn Nets, and led them to a 44-38 record during the 2013-14 season.

The following year, he joined the Bucks and led them to one playoff appearance in four years (2014-2018). He then landed a job with the Los Angeles Lakers, becoming Frank Vogel’s assistant coach.
