The last time that the Los Angeles Lakers won back-to-back NBA championships was back in 2010 when the team was led by Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. Eleven years later, the Purple and Gold is on a quest to do the same.

According to Kyle Kuzma, it is definitely more difficult to repeat than to win a championship the first time. However, he says it is a fun challenge for his team.

“A hundred percent it’s going to be tough,” Kuzma said. “I think they always say that the first one is easy and the second one is tough because teams understand who you are, they understand how you win, they understand what you are trying to do defensively and what makes you good.

“We’ve see that the first two games of this early playoffs with us. I think off our double teams and our traps that first game they did a really good job of countering it and figuring out what the open areas were and in the gaps within that. It’s a fun challenge though for us. It’s like chess or a puzzle. Just trying to figure out where it is and put the pieces where they need to be. We did that at the second game.”
