Lakers head coach Frank Vogel says his team will not change anything as far as defending Chris Paul is concerned, despite the Suns star playing through a shoulder injury.

“In terms of Chris we don’t really change anything,” he said. “We always expect their best. If he’s on the floor, he’s one of the best competitors in this league and we expect him to be at full strength and to do everything he can normally do. So we’re not really changing anything with how we’re playing him. Just carrying that respect level.”

Another player that’s been a real threat in the first two games of the series is Deandre Ayton. The 22-year-old center had two double-doubles with 21 points and 16 rebounds and 22 points along with 10 rebounds, respectively. The former number one draft pick missed just 3 out of 24 shots over these two games.

“With regard to Deandre we try to play bigger and limit his efficiency but he’s just off to a great start in his playoff career,” he said. “We’re doing the best we can with him just bringing as much size as we can and competing with him on the backside, he’s got a lot of backside action out of the action they run for Cameron and for Devin and for Chris in the pick and roll game. He’s just finishing everything so just have to do a better job there.”
