FC Barcelona and superstar big man Pau Gasol have their sights set on winning the EuroLeague Championship at Lanxess Arena this week.
Gasol talked to the official website of the EuroLeague and said it would be special for him if he won the EuroLeague for the first time in his career.
“Barca, being one of the top clubs, in teams, in franchises, in brands in the world, there is a certain expectation of success. The expectations is always to be at the top or have a chance to win the top titles.
And after seven years of not making the Final Four, this is a very important and meaningful step in the right direction. It is a title that I have never won and it would be incredibly special for me personally.
Barca is my home and the club itself represents so much to me, my family and the city. So to be able to come back and play here again with this special team and add to it and have a chance to win the EuroLeague and a league title, that’s what motivates me,” Gasol said.
Gasol and FC Barcelona are getting ready for the semifinal against Armani Milano on Friday night.
