Kentavious Caldwell-Pope explained what went wrong for the Los Angeles Lakers during Game 1 loss vs. the Phoenix Suns.

The veteran wing claimed the Lakers were not ready to compete due to playing in an early noon game. The Lakers were almost sleepwalking during Sunday’s matchup that resulted in losing 90-99 to the Suns.

“It was an early noon game, guys were just waking up, maybe… I feel like the energy wasn’t there… We’ve got to come prepared,” KCP said, per Lakers writer Harrison Faigen.

The Lakers will face the Suns again on Tuesday night hoping for a different result. After tonight’s contest, the series will be in LA for two games before returning to Phoenix.
