Frank Vogel on Devin Booker: “He’s a scoring machine”

Devin Booker had a game-high 34 points, almost twice as many as the Lakers top scorer LeBron James with 18 points, as he led the Suns to a Game 1 win of the first round of the playoffs. The 24-year-old guard also had 7 rebounds and 8 assists while playing game-high 45 minutes.

After the game Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked about a challenge that Booker gives to his defense. “He’s a scoring machine,” Vogel said. “He puts a lot of pressure on our defense to cover him in a lot of ways and when we double-team, you got Ayton in there on the glass.

“So we didn’t do a good enough job but we hold this team to 99 points again. In Game 2, I feel good about our chances. We have to score the ball better offensively.
