Masai Ujiri addressed his future with the Toronto Raptors in the closing media session of the season. Ujiri’s contract is coming to an end this offseason.

When he was asked about his future, Ujiri claimed he does not care for the past, he only wants to build a winning team in Toronto.

(via CBS Sports):

“Everybody says blank check, blank check, but I’m not as much focused on blank check,” Ujiri said. “A lot of the things that we have done here, we have to move forward as a franchise to compete with the best in the NBA. This is all about winning a championship again.

“This is all about winning the championship again. Lemme tell you something – everybody has forgotten what happened two years ago. We won. Nobody cares anymore. We want to win another one … everybody’s like why don’t you get in the play in — play in FOR WHAT?”

The Raptors finished the season as the 11th seed, missing the play-in tournament. At the top of Ujiri’s contract situation, veteran star Kyle Lowry will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
