Hawks’ Brandon Goodwin out for playoffs

Atlanta Hawks guard Brandon Goodwin has been diagnosed with a minor respiratory condition that requires treatment and will keep him out of the playoffs, the team announced.

Goodwin, who served as a backup point guard to Trae Young, played in 47 games (five starts) this season and averaged 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 13.2 minutes per game.

The 25-year-old tweeted “Be back soon.”

Young tweeted support for his teammate as well.

The Hawks take on the New York Knicks in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
