Wizards’ Bradley Beal says he won’t be 100% for play-in

Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, but that isn’t going to prevent him from playing in the NBA play-in tournament.

“There’s no setbacks which is good,” said Beal. “I didn’t injure it any worse than what it was, so that’s positive. Obviously it still probably won’t be 100 percent. It is just a matter of managing it as best I can.”

Beal, who played through the injury in the team’s 115-110 win over the Charlotte Hornets to secure the No. 8 seed for the play-in, said his choice to play was a “hard-headed decision to play when I probably shouldn’t have, but we made the best of it.”

“The medical staff, they weren’t 100 percent with it. Some guys were, some weren’t,” he said. “I felt good. I would say I am not as sore as I thought I would be. Not as beat up as I would have thought.”

The 27-year-old will be ready to play against the Boston Celtics on May 18, as a win would get the Wizards to the No. 7 seed in the playoffs.
