Jared Dudley on Lakers trying to win championship as 7th seed: “It will be the hardest challenge any team has ever had in NBA history”

The Los Angeles Lakers veteran Jared Dudley was able to recover from an MCL tear and return to action this season. The 35-year-old forward played his first game last night against the New Orleans Pelicans after being out since early March.

He spent four minutes on the court as he scored two points. After the game, he was asked about the Lakers trying to win a championship this season as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

“It will be the hardest challenge any team has ever had in NBA history,” Dudley said. “And the reason why I say this is you’re going to first play-in game. I know the Warriors aren’t the Warriors of old but you still got Steph Curry, all-time great. When I mean all-time great, he will eventually go down as top 10 all-time. Someone who can just change the game. Draymond Green, Hall of Famer. That’s not going to be easy.

“And if you somehow get past that you play a two seed, then you got to play a three seed. I do think it was funny you see a lot of teams as you would say managing these last two couple of games trying to to avoid us and stuff like that. It’s funny to see that.

“But for us it’s going to be a challenge whatever team you play. Between Jokic, the Clippers, you obviously have Chris Paul. We’re up for, we are the defending champs. They got to worry about us. We’re getting healthy at the right time and no one wants see a healthy Laker team.”
