Knicks clinch first playoff appearance in 8 years after win vs. Celtics

This year, the New York Knicks defied expectations as they returned to the postseason after eight years. Moreover, they will have the home court advantage in the first round of the Playoffs after securing the No.4 seed.

The Knicks finished their surprising regular season campaign with a 96-92 victory over the Boston Celtics, who will have to get through the Washington Wizards to claim their spot in the postseason.

The Knicks will host the Atlanta Hawks in the opening round of the Playoffs. Tom Thibodeau’s squad swept the season series against the Hawks asserting their dominance over the conference rivals.

Julius Randle’s (24.2 PTS, 10.2 REB, 6.0 AST) stellar year was the main reason behind the success of the NY franchise, who won 41 out of their 72 games to claim the No.4 seed.

That’s three more wins than the total number (38) the team achieved in the last two seasons prior to the 2020-21 campaign.
