Stephen Curry wins NBA scoring title

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has locked up the 2020-21 NBA scoring title, the second of his career.

Curry beat out Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal.

Beal (31.4 points per game) entered the day 0.4 points behind Curry (31.8 points per game) and there were several scenarios where Beal could’ve caught Curry for the scoring title.

Beal needed to outscore Curry by the following:

  • 23 points if Curry scores between 0-5
  • 22 points if Curry scores between 6-25
  • 21 points if Curry scores between 26-47
  • 20 points if Curry scores 48+

Curry and Michael Jordan are now the only players to win the scoring title after turning 33.

Curry, 33, also joins Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players with multiple scoring titles, MVPs and championships.

If the Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies today, Curry’s Warriors and Beal’s Wizards will both be the No. 8 seed in the Western and Eastern Conference, respectively.
